- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
- Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
- Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Caramel drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced bananas, 1 cup sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, milk, and remaining ½ cup sugar, and nutmeg if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spoon the banana mixture on top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
For best results, use fully ripe bananas. Allow the cobbler to rest for optimal texture.
