- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Sugar for caramelizing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut hole pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg yolks, and vanilla extract and whisk until well mixed.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fill each cavity of the donut hole pan about three-quarters full with batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly in the pan.
- Whip the heavy cream in a bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Fill each cooled donut hole with whipped cream using a piping bag.
- Sprinkle sugar on top of each filled donut hole and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden.
- Serve warm or allow to cool at room temperature.
