Description

Gochujang Carbonara is a unique fusion dish that combines the creamy richness of traditional carbonara with the spicy kick of gochujang, a Korean chili paste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 100g pancetta or bacon, diced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a pan, cook the pancetta or bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  3. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan, gochujang, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drain the spaghetti and add it to the pan with the pancetta and garlic.
  6. Remove the pan from heat and quickly mix in the egg mixture, stirring until creamy.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of gochujang to your spice preference.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute pancetta with mushrooms.
  • Make sure to mix the egg mixture off the heat to prevent scrambling.
