- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 jalapenos, diced
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound sausage, sliced
- 1 pound salmon, cooked and flaked
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and add grits, stirring occasionally.
- Cook grits until thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and diced jalapenos until melted and combined.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add sausage, cooking until browned.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque.
- Fold in the cooked salmon and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the shrimp, sausage, and salmon mixture over the jalapeno cheddar grits.
Notes
- Adjust the spiciness by adding more or fewer jalapenos.
- For a creamier texture, add a splash of cream to the grits.
- Can substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
