- 500 grams chicken breast
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 4 pieces pita bread
- 1 medium cucumber, diced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 100 grams feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by combining olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Toss the chicken breasts in the mixture and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Heat your grill or skillet on medium-high and cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
- Slice the cooked chicken into strips.
- Prepare the tzatziki by mixing Greek yogurt, diced cucumber, crumbled feta, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Warm the pita bread lightly on the grill or in the oven.
- Assemble the gyros by placing sliced chicken on each pita and drizzling with tzatziki. Add extra veggies if desired.
- Serve immediately with additional sides or dips.
Notes
For optimal flavor, marinate chicken overnight and store tzatziki separately to maintain freshness.
