Description

A delightful journey of flavors with marinated chicken, creamy feta tzatziki, and fresh veggies wrapped in warm pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken breast
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 4 pieces pita bread
  • 1 medium cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 100 grams feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by combining olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Toss the chicken breasts in the mixture and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. Heat your grill or skillet on medium-high and cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  3. Slice the cooked chicken into strips.
  4. Prepare the tzatziki by mixing Greek yogurt, diced cucumber, crumbled feta, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until well combined.
  5. Warm the pita bread lightly on the grill or in the oven.
  6. Assemble the gyros by placing sliced chicken on each pita and drizzling with tzatziki. Add extra veggies if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with additional sides or dips.

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate chicken overnight and store tzatziki separately to maintain freshness.
