Description

Smothered Pork Chops are tender, juicy pork chops cooked in a rich, flavorful gravy, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 cup of onion, sliced
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the pork chops and brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the pork chops and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté until translucent.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Serve the pork chops smothered in gravy.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the pork chops in your favorite spices overnight.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the gravy.
