Ingredients

- 2 cups of sourdough starter
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
Instructions
- Mix together the sourdough starter, warm water, and olive oil until thoroughly combined.
- Add the egg to the mixture, ensuring it’s well incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour, salt, and sugar, stirring as you go until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and knead it for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 4-6 hours, until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Once risen, shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
Notes
For enhanced flavors, consider adding herbs or utilizing a cold fermentation method overnight. Store at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
