- 2 beef steaks (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup shallots, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, add the shallots and mushrooms, cooking until softened.
- Carefully add the brandy and ignite to flambé, allowing the alcohol to burn off.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Dijon mustard, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Return the steaks to the skillet, coating them in the sauce.
- Serve the steaks garnished with fresh parsley and additional sauce on top.
