- 4 salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Rub the seasoning mixture over both sides of each salmon fillet.
- Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet, searing for 2-3 minutes on each side until blackened.
- Transfer the fillets to a baking dish and place in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through.
- Serve immediately, optionally with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
