Description

A simple yet bold blackened salmon recipe packed with flavor and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Rub the seasoning mixture over both sides of each salmon fillet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet, searing for 2-3 minutes on each side until blackened.
  6. Transfer the fillets to a baking dish and place in the preheated oven.
  7. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through.
  8. Serve immediately, optionally with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Notes

Make the spice blend in advance for convenience, and consider marinating the salmon for an hour for deeper flavors.
