Description

A succulent ham glazed with a sweet and tangy combination of brown sugar, honey, and orange juice, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 810 pounds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Score the surface of the ham with shallow cuts in a diamond pattern.
  3. Mix your glaze ingredients: In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. Stir until the brown sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Place the ham in a roasting pan and generously brush the surface with the prepared glaze.
  5. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil for the final 30 minutes of baking.
  7. Once the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C), pull the ham from the oven and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Ensure the glaze is made a day in advance for deeper flavor. Adjust cooking times for different types of ham.
