Description

This Brown Sugar Glazed Ham features a rich, caramelized glaze with flavors of honey, orange, and spices, making it the perfect centerpiece for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Whisk together 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup honey, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves until smooth.
  3. Place the ham flat-side down in a spacious roasting pan, scoring the surface in a diamond pattern.
  4. Brush the glaze generously over the ham.
  5. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil for the final 30 minutes of baking.
  7. Check the internal temperature; once it reaches 140°F (60°C), let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Prepare the glaze a day in advance for a deeper flavor. Consider using maple syrup instead of honey for a different twist.
