Description

A delightful marriage of flavors and textures, featuring carne asada, guacamole, and salsa wrapped in a warm tortilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound carne asada
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Season the carne asada generously with salt and pepper, then place it into the hot skillet.
  3. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, then let it rest.
  4. Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet for a minute or two on each side.
  5. Assemble your burrito with refried beans, rice, carne asada, cheese, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream.
  6. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly from the bottom.
  7. Serve with extra salsa or sour cream on the side.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare carne asada and rice a day in advance. Cooking alternatives: Consider air frying or baking the assembled burrito for a crispy exterior.
