Description

A comforting casserole featuring layers of ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder and paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine the cooked beef, onions, cream of mushroom soup, and milk in a mixing bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead: Assemble the night before and increase baking time by 15 minutes. Customize with different cheeses or add vegetables.
