Description

Deliciously soft and chewy cookie bars infused with cinnamon and sugar, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until velvety and light.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is incorporated.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Combine the topping sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, then sprinkle over the dough.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Ensure to properly measure flour to avoid dry bars. You can freeze leftovers for up to three months.
