Description
Delicious bite-sized churros, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, coated in cinnamon sugar and perfect for dipping.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Oil for frying
- Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and add flour. Stir until a smooth dough forms.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Add egg and mix until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe small rounds into hot oil.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Toss warm churros in a sugar and cinnamon mixture until coated.
- Serve with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
Experiment with different flavors by adding vanilla extract or incorporate nuts for added crunch.
