Description

Deliciously creamy and sweet, this creamed corn transforms simple corn into an indulgent side dish that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups sweet corn (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the sweet corn for about 5 minutes until tender.
  3. Mix in the heavy cream and milk, and add sugar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

You can prepare the creamed corn a day ahead and reheat it on the stovetop. For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut cream and almond milk.
