Description

Deliciously spiced apple pie bars with a golden, flaky crust and a delightful caramel drizzle, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of the mixture for topping, and press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Mix diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar, and spread over the crust.
  5. Crumble the reserved topping mixture over the apple layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before drizzling with caramel.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend. Feel free to customize with chopped nuts or additional spices.
