Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix gently until combined and form into oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside on a warm plate.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for an additional minute.
- Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce while stirring continuously until the gravy thickens.
- Return the steak patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or rice, soaking up the gravy.
Notes
For make-ahead, prepare patties the night before and refrigerate. You can use an air fryer at 375°F for 10-12 minutes as a cooking alternative.
