- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (for frosting)
- Sprinkles (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture carefully.
- Spread the dough into the prepared baking pan evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bars completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for the frosting.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled bars and top with sprinkles.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For best results, frost the bars just before serving to maintain the texture. Experiment with adding lemon zest or chocolate chips to the batter if desired.
