Description

Savory biscuits infused with garlic and herbs, incorporating tangy sourdough for a delightful flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs
  • Milk (if needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the sourdough discard, cheese, garlic powder, and herbs until just combined.
  5. Add milk if the dough seems too dry.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and press into a 1-inch thick layer.
  7. Use a round cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Enjoy warm with butter or your favorite spread.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Refrigerate the dough for up to a day. Reheat for a fresh-out-of-the-oven experience.
