Description

A delicious sandwich melt combining the sweetness of fig jam and creamy cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons fig jam
  • 2 ounces creamy cheese (Brie or goat cheese)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread fig jam on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Layer creamy cheese and fresh thyme on the opposite side of the bread.
  4. Close the sandwich with jam side facing inward.
  5. Butter the outside of the sandwich generously.
  6. Grill the sandwich until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding prosciutto or a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Serve with a mixed green salad or sweet potato fries.
