Description

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Beat the ricotta cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

For a quicker method, use an air fryer at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes. You can also customize the cake with citrus zest or substitute chocolate chips with dried fruits.
