Experience the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean with these juicy Greek chicken burgers, complemented by a refreshing tzatziki sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (93% lean)
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or dill)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers)
  • 4 pieces Buns or Pita (whole grain or gluten-free)

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and egg in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Form the mixture into burger patties, slightly wider than the buns.
  3. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Cook the patties on a preheated grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Toast the buns until golden and crisp.
  6. Assemble by spreading tzatziki on the bottom bun, adding the burger and fresh vegetables, and topping with the other half of the bun.

Notes

Chill the patties before cooking for better shape retention. Feel free to customize ingredients based on dietary preferences.
