A warm and soft sourdough loaf with a golden crust, perfect for sandwiches or as a stand-alone treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g Bread Flour
- 350ml Water
- 100g Sourdough Starter
- 10g Salt
Instructions
- Combine the bread flour and water in a large mixing bowl. Mix until no dry flour remains and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Add in your sourdough starter and salt, then mix until fully combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough on a floured surface and place it seam-side up in a floured proofing basket. Cover and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
- Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven and cover. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For deeper flavors, consider rising the dough in the fridge overnight after the first rise.
