Description

A warm and soft sourdough loaf with a golden crust, perfect for sandwiches or as a stand-alone treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 350ml Water
  • 100g Sourdough Starter
  • 10g Salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the bread flour and water in a large mixing bowl. Mix until no dry flour remains and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add in your sourdough starter and salt, then mix until fully combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough on a floured surface and place it seam-side up in a floured proofing basket. Cover and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
  7. Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven and cover. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For deeper flavors, consider rising the dough in the fridge overnight after the first rise.
