Description

These Sourdough Peanut Butter Cookies combine the nutty richness of peanut butter with the tangy complexity of sourdough, creating a delightful treat that’s soft, chewy, and sustainable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sourdough discard, peanut butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl.
  3. Integrate the baking soda and salt into the wet ingredients.
  4. Form the cookies by dropping spoonfuls of dough onto a prepared baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  6. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For a twist, add chocolate chips or nuts. Freeze the cookie dough for up to three months and bake straight from frozen.
