- 1 pound cake or sponge cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups whipped cream

Instructions
- Macerate the strawberries: In a bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes.
- Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, beat the cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Layer your ingredients: In a trifle dish or individual cups, start with a layer of cake cubes.
- Repeat the layers: Continue to alternate layers of cake, cream, and strawberries.
- Garnish and chill: If desired, sprinkle fresh mint leaves atop the whipped cream and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Prepare the strawberries and whipped cream a day in advance. Assemble the trifle on the day it will be served to maintain the cake’s texture.
