Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 pound cake or sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups whipped cream

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Macerate the strawberries: In a bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, beat the cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Layer your ingredients: In a trifle dish or individual cups, start with a layer of cake cubes.
  4. Repeat the layers: Continue to alternate layers of cake, cream, and strawberries.
  5. Garnish and chill: If desired, sprinkle fresh mint leaves atop the whipped cream and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
