Description

A delightful blend of tangy sourdough and sweet strawberries, this bread is perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 3/4 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, all-purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, and water in a large bowl until a coarse dough forms.
  2. Add the chopped strawberries and gently fold them into the dough.
  3. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 4 to 6 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Shape the risen dough into a loaf and transfer it to a baking pan or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Rest the shaped dough for 30 to 45 minutes, covering it lightly to prevent drying.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
  8. Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use an active sourdough starter. You can also prepare the dough the night before for an overnight rise.
