Description

A comforting and savory casserole made with seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and topped with crispy tater tots.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the meat turns brown, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the cooked beef to the soup mixture, season with salt and pepper, and stir until fully combined.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Layer the frozen tater tots on top of the beef mixture.
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  9. Return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Assemble the casserole a day in advance and refrigerate. Bake directly from the fridge, adding a few extra minutes to ensure it’s hot throughout.
