- 3 to 4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Sear the brisket in a large skillet with olive oil for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Remove the brisket from the skillet and sauté onions and garlic for 3-4 minutes.
- Create the sauce by adding beef broth, red wine, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika to the skillet.
- Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the sauce over it before covering tightly with aluminum foil.
- Slow cook in the oven for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
- Rest the brisket for 15 minutes before slicing against the grain to serve.
