  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped

  4. Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
  5. Stuff the cavity with fresh herbs, halved lemon, halved orange, quartered onions, and smashed garlic.
  6. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  7. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  8. Roast for 3 to 4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting every 30 minutes.

Notes

Consider brining the turkey ahead of time for added moisture. Always use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
