Perfectly roasted Thanksgiving turkey with juicy meat and crispy skin, infused with fresh herbs and citrus.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 orange, halved
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 onions, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the turkey from packaging and pat it dry.
- Season the turkey inside and out with salt and pepper.
- Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
- Stuff the cavity with fresh herbs, halved lemon, halved orange, quartered onions, and smashed garlic.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Roast for 3 to 4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting every 30 minutes.
- Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Consider brining the turkey ahead of time for added moisture. Always use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
